Tom Schumacher

Professor Schumacher teaches Environmental Soil Management (PS 362) every spring term, Soil Physical Properties (PS 743) fall term of even years, and Crop Water Relations (PS 783) fall term of odd years. His research projects are in the area of soil conservation and management, and include the interaction of soil physical properties with biological components of soils. Current research topics include:1) Soil management relationships to soil wettability and aggregation; 2) Integration of tillage, wind, and water erosion processes within fields and landscapes; and 3) Evaluation of relationships between soil properties, plant growth, and landscape processes in natural and managed ecosystems.
