Extension Soil Science

The goal for this program is to provide soil fertility, quality, and conservation information and recommendations to the citizens of South Dakota through mass media, educational meetings or field tours for dealers/applicators, crop producers, commodity groups, urban constituents, and other field staff.  Additional goals are to provide professional development for county extension educators and to provide state producers with guidelines for conducting on-farm research trials and to encourage submission of results for general distribution.  Since 2000, this program has averaged 31 producer meetings, 29 workshops, 9 field days, 6 TV appearances 18 radio/magazine/newspaper, 6 news releases, and 31 research reports every year to deliver educational information to South Dakota and the surrounding states.
