The Adopt a Farm website consists of using 2 main pages:

1. The 'Maps and Tutorials' page

2. The 'Message Board' page.

Instructions: for Maps and Tutorials

1. Click on the 'Go To Maps and Tutorials Web Page' button at the top of the page to enter the Map Services and Tutorials webpage. In this section, the user will be able to choose from a wide variety of tutorials to learn more about production agriculture, remote sensing and spatial data collection. Also, the user will learn how agriculture activities impacts their lives.

2. Once the user has entered the 'Topic Selection Page' after clicking in the 'Maps and Tutorials' button on the top, the user will remain logged in to the Map Services. Special software manufactured by ERSI called ArcIMS was used to create these web pages.

3. In the 'Topic Selection Page', user gets a brief introduction of every tutorials along with a link to 'Download/Print Questions' and  'Go To map'. It is expected that a user first clicks on 'Download/Print Questions', download/print the questions and then goes to the 'Map page'.

4. On any Map, the user will be able to zoom into the map or image, turn on or off different maps or images, or display scales. The user will also be able to access a tutorial that shows pictures of the farm activities related to the tutorial. After that the user can answer the set of questions, downloaded/printed earlier.

5. Along with the Map page some of the tutorials contains a separate textual tutorial. Map Objectives are provided there at the beginning and study questions at the end.

6. Another component of this website is interaction with a farmer. For K-12 applications, students are encouraged to write questions down as they use the tutorials about any questions they have about agriculture production.

7. After the student is done with the tutorial, the student can log out of the Map Services page and enter the other components of the website like Message board page.

1. From the Message Board page, the student can email the questions to any farmer/researcher/educator. Normally the queries are addressed within 2 to 3 days.

2.User on clicking the 'Go To Message Board' will come in to the Message Board Page.

**N.B The Message Board page is a secure page. The user will have to provide a password and relative information about themselves to gain access. The Message Board page will be monitored for content. Any unacceptable content will be deleted and the user will not be allowed access to the site.
