Dr. Trooien teaches Soil and Water Mechanics and Landscape Irrigation at SDSU. His research interests include:
(1) Utilization of livestock wastewater with vegetated treatment systems (VTS's) or subsurface drip irrigation (SDI);
(2) Water movement through glacial till-derived soils and management of that water;
(3) Irrigation water management;
(4) Impact of hydrology on spatial variation of crop yield and water quality protection.

He is a member of:
