Edible Bean Statements:

  1. If fertilizer is recommended:  When planted in 30 inch rows, do not apply fertilizer in contact with the seed.  When planted in 7.5-inch rows, limit seed placed N + K2O to 10 lb/a but do not use urea or UAN.

  2. Edible beans when nitrogen is recommended:  Because of your very reduced or no tillage system, 30 lb/a of additional nitrogen has been considered in the above N recommendation.

  3. Edible Beans when nitrogen is recommended:  Edible beans are legumes which respond to nitrogen fertilizer.  If nitrogen is applied as a starter, it should not touch the seed.
