Creeping Bellflower

Life cycle: Perennial

Leaves: Heart-shaped basal leaves

Stems: Stem is erect and frequently a purplish color

Flowers: Bluish-purple, bell-shaped flowers

Roots: Fleshy root attached to enlarged, starchy, reproductive structure

Comments: Very difficult perennial weed to control in lawns

Control

Foliar Herbicides: Fall application preferred. Products that contain 2,4-D and dicamba (Weed-B-Gone Max, Trimec, WeedStop, and others). Repeat treatment often required.
