Field Bindweed

Life cycle: Perennial

Leaves: Arrowhead shape leaves.

Stems: Smooth, 2 to 7 feet long. Vine-like growth habit.

Flowers: Pink-white flowers.

Roots: creeping root. May access sub-soil moisture during droughts.

Comments: Fall spraying most effective. Repeat applications often needed. Control often requires several years.

Control

Foliar Herbicides: Products that contain 2,4-D and dicamba (Weed-B-Gone Max, Trimec, WeedStop, and others), quinclorac (Drive), fluroxypyr (Spotlight).

Soil Herbicides: For landscapes, isoxaben (Gallery or Portrait) may provide suppression of new plants germinating from seed.
