Pineapple Weed
Life cycle: Annual
Leaves: Feathery leaves.
Stems: Numerous upright branches. Normally branching from the bottom of the stem. Short stature.
Flowers: Yellow, sometimes greenish acorn-shaped flowers (petals not readily visible).
Roots: Taproot
Comments: Crushed leaves have a scent resembling that of pineapple. Can be a problem in landscapes.
Control
Cultural: Mulch or bedding in gardens or landscape.
Foliar Herbicides: Products that contain 2,4-D and dicamba (Weed-B-Gone Max, Trimec, WeedStop, and others), triclopyr (Turflon), clopyralid (Confront), or metsulfuron (Manor).
Soil Herbicides: For landscapes, may use isoxaben (Gallery or Portrait).
