White Clover

Life cycle: Perennial

Leaves: Typical clover shape with three leaflets heart-shaped leaflets per leaf

Stems: Has underground and aboveground stems

Flowers: Clusters of white flowers

Roots: Branching taproot

Comments: Cool season legume. Grows best in wet seasons or in moist sites.

Control

Cultural: Fertilize lawn.

Foliar Herbicides: Fall applications preferred. Products that contain 2,4-D and dicamba (Weed-B-Gone Max, Trimec, WeedStop, and others), carfentrazone (QuickSilver), triclopyr (Turflon), quinclorac (Drive), fluroxypyr (Spotlight). There is also a Weed-B-Gone product for clover, chickweeds, and oxalis species that contains triclopyr.

Soil Herbicides: Products that contain dithiopyr (Dimension Ultra)
