Scratches
and grooves on exposed Milbank granite planed smooth by glacier movement.
Nearly linear darker brown marks indicate contact of granite surface with
iron bearing rocks imbedded within the glacier as they moved across the
bedrock surface. The residue from the iron minerals has since been oxidized
to a brown color. (Location is 5 miles northeast of Milbank in Grant county).
