Drainage area revealed by low vegetation cover in a soybean field. The crop is planted parallel to the slope to inhibit erosion, but the precipitation rate of one event exceeded the soil infiltration rate causing the excess surface water to move downslope with the natural gradient of the slope. Location is 4 miles east of Scotland in Bon Homme county.
